If you've ploughed through my previous pages and are still interested, I would love to hear from you. The simple way is to email me on
Lorimer@me.com
Suggested Costs:
My standard fee is £70 + 45p/mile for longer distance travelling expenses for audiences of up to 100 and within, say, 50 miles of Guildford, Surrey.
Let's discuss any proposals outside this normal area of operation.
I am self-sufficient in that I will arrive with my MackBook Air, Projector, Screen (quite large), speakers, and a host of extension leads.
I'm used to setting up in all sorts of halls (see Bookings). I'm very comfortable working with or without a microphone, and haven't been frightened by an audience yet.
On a Cruise ship the audience will often be 500+ (although when the sun is shining and the sun beds are out, it's often less!).
Further Thoughts
I am retired – which doesn't mean that I'm actually, not very busy, because I am – but am often available to speak at very short notice.
Why do I do this? It's certainly not because of the money. It's because I enjoy sharing information about the world of aviation.
And what I especially enjoy, is arousing memories from 40 years ago or more
("I was responsible for designing the jet engine which powered the Wasp helicopter"; or "My husband was a skipper on one of those trawlers off Iceland").
I'm open to all ideas and suggestions. So if you are looking for a speaker with a multi-media presentation on various areas of aviation, please do let me know; I'd be delighted to speak to you.
